3 Bathrooms in Big Canoe, GA
Fall of 2024 I was fortunate to create 3 new bathrooms for friends in Big Canoe, GA. A new marble shower (my favorite project to create), a classic black and white bathroom, and a glass tile tub surround.
I’m mr. bill the Tileguy. I brush my hair with a safety razor. I married my one and only girlfriend. My 3 kids are really keen. I do not eat watermelon, do not speak Mandarin, do not believe in decorative pillows.

Ana had long wanted to replace her dated master bathroom, and a leak in her shower gave her the reason to get it done. I brought in my friends at Cherokee Remodeling to demo the bathroom, repair the wood rot, and recess the shower floor [making it a zero-entry/curbless shower]. G the Tileguy and I …

As I’ve coached clients …

And now–video #4 of converting Carson’s bathtub into a shower. Today you’ll see the most important part of the shower, the part you never see: The waterproofing. I typically use a waterproof membrane on top of the walls–Kerdi from Schluter Systems. You’ll see that, learn how it’s installed, and see the tumbled marble floor that …
A better title for this post: WHY DO SHOWERS LEAK? Here in video #3 of me converting Carson’s bathtub into a shower you’ll see the initial skeleton of his new shower. I’ve installed his bench, and begun the mud (concrete) bed for the bottom. When it comes to showers, there are 2 things I hear …
